Throughout his career, Erbil has been the recipient of several prestigious awards in Turkiye, including the distinguished title of state artist. His contributions to the art world extend beyond his creations; he is also the founder of a museum and a foundation bearing his name, both dedicated to advancing modern art in Turkiye.
In addition to his artistic accomplishments, Erbil is deeply committed to exploring and highlighting the theme of nature in his work. He has authored numerous articles and organized a wide array of events worldwide, from conferences to seminars, showcasing his dedication to cultural and environmental causes.
