Erbil, a graduate of the Istanbul State Academy of Fine Arts, honed his skills under the tutelage of notable artists such as Bedri Rahmi Eyuboglu, Cemal Tollu, and Cevat Dereli. His unique talent quickly became apparent through his participation in group exhibitions, earning him a scholarship from the Spanish government.

Erbil’s artistic journey took him from the vibrant cities of Madrid and Barcelona to the cultural hubs of London and Paris, where he continued to evolve and refine his artistry. Throughout his career, Erbil has been the recipient of several prestigious awards in Turkiye, including the distinguished title of state artist. His contributions to the art world extend beyond his creations; he is also the founder of a museum and a foundation bearing his name, both dedicated to advancing modern art in Turkiye.

In addition to his artistic accomplishments, Erbil is deeply committed to exploring and highlighting the theme of nature in his work. He has authored numerous articles and organized a wide array of events worldwide, from conferences to seminars, showcasing his dedication to cultural and environmental causes. Erbil’s engagement with the public also spans radio and television, where he shares his insights and promotes the arts to a broader audience.

The “From Turkiye with Love” exhibition at the Heydar Aliyev Center is not just a showcase of Erbil’s artistic achievements; it is a testament to his enduring love and fascination with the cities that have shaped his life and work.
